Cut-to-Length Line, QTA-Series |
The picture above shows a compact Cut-to-Length Line, consisting of a coil reel with a loading capacity of 5.000 kg, a regular drive and a loop control as well as a straightener-feeder with a max. material width of 1.000mm and electrically driven shear. Not pictured, but belonging to this line, is a sensor-driven lift table, |
Cut-to-Length Lines are available in 2 classical types of construction:
- Conventional Cut-to-Length Line
With this constructive form, the straightener pulls the coil material off the decoiler reel or receives the material from a coil reel which is pulling force - controlled against the straightener. It can also receive it from a regular reel with loop control. After the straightening, the reel guides the material into a loop where the roller feed takes over the material. The roller feed inserts the material into the slitting shear at the desired feeder length. Behind the slitting shear, depending on the degree of automatization, an automized destacking device or, with more simple lines, a sensor-controlled lift table is located. - Compact Cut-to-Length Line
With this constructive form, a coil reel with regular drive and loop control inserts the coil material into a loop where the straightener-feeder takes it over. It straightens und pushes the material clocked into the following slitting shear.
The question whether to install a conventional or compact Cut-to-Length Line is mainly influenced by the requirements regarding the surface of the material to be cut as well as the clock count and space available for setting up the line.
